Legendary Dancer and Actress Sobhana Chandrakumar Conducts Transformational Workshop at Sarvakalasala Arts Training Center, Dubai
Dubai, UAE – June 9, 2025 — Sarvakalasala Arts Training Center in Dubai Silicon Oasis proudly hosted an exclusive three-day classical dance workshop from 6th to 8th June 2025, led by none other than the legendary Ms. Sobhana Chandrakumar, acclaimed Indian actress, Bharatanatyam exponent, and Padma Shri awardee.
The workshop saw an overwhelming response, with over 300 applications received from aspiring dancers across the UAE. After a meticulous selection process, 100 exceptionally talented students were chosen to participate in this intensive program under the personal guidance of Ms. Sobhana.
Renowned for her captivating screen presence and unparalleled contributions to Indian classical dance, Ms. Sobhana has performed on global stages and mentored countless students through her dance academy, Kalarpana. Her visit to Sarvakalasala marked a significant milestone in the center’s journey, bringing international attention and reaffirming its commitment to nurturing artistic excellence in the region.
Throughout the three days, participants received invaluable instruction not only in the technical intricacies of Bharatanatyam but also in the deeper nuances of expression, rhythm, and stage presence — elements that define Ms. Sobhana’s artistic signature. The workshop concluded with a heartfelt interaction between the artist and students, leaving a lasting impact on all involved.
